NEW FOR 2010!
What is TRI-201?
TRI-201 is the next step in training after our TRI-101 program. Following in the same mold as our TRI-101 program, TRI - 201 provides the same social and structured training environment, but designed for more experienced triathletes who want to complete an olympic distance event. TRI-201 provides a separate training program, developed by a USAT certified coach, that will prepare you for a late spring olympic race. 201 participants will train alongside and socialize with all the 101 participants, just follow a different training program.
Who can participate in TRI-201?
TRI-201 is intended for intermediate level triathletes who have been through our TRI-101 program or have completed 5 multi-races before.
What does TRI-201 cost?
TRI-201 costs the same at our 101 program. $119 for YMCA members. $169 for non-YMCA members.
How is TRI-201 different then TRI-101?
The only difference between TRI-201 and TRI-101 is the actual training program. The 201 participant will use a web-based program called Training Peaks to receive and log their workouts. They will follow a slightly different training schedule designed to prepare them for a longer race. They will be expected to utilize a heartrate monitor for effort-based training. And their training will be guided by a USAT certified coach. Otherwise, the 201 participant will have access to all the same benefits (social activities, coaching, Yoga classes, topic presentations, YMCA facilities, etc...) as the 101 participants.
